Christmas in Ibiza

Christmas in Ibiza

Tonight is Christmas Eve and tomorrow CHRISTMAS… What a Christmas wish!

In IBIZAGOCAR we have already been infected by the Christmas spirit and we want to infect you a little bit of this wonderful spirit so characteristic of these dates through a post where we tell you the best of Christmas in Ibiza and some recommendations on what to do in Ibiza at Christmas.

Ibiza is not only a tourist destination in summer (for which it is known worldwide), but many people decide to make a getaway to the island at Christmas and for that we tell you some of the best plans you can make on the island during your Christmas holidays.

In Ibiza you can enjoy the wonderful Mediterranean climate with more than 300 days of sunshine a year so if you are lucky, as is the case for this 2018, at Christmas you can enjoy the good weather of the island Ibiza. It is also important to mention that Ibiza is not going to be able to enjoy a classic White Christmas as the mountains do not exceed 500 meters in altitude and the thermoregulation of the sea helps not to lower temperatures extremely even in the harshest winter months.

It is not the Balearic island that is most characterised by this atmosphere, but it is different in that it is the one that organises the best Christmas parties. For example, Pachá is open on all weekends and on the eve of holidays, including Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Ibiza experiences Christmas in a very different way, as Christmas is the time for many students who return home for holidays and therefore for the family union during the two weeks of Christmas holidays.

What to do in Ibiza for Christmas?

Without a doubt the time of year with the most residents in Ibiza is summer and Christmas. Summer because of the great tourist attraction of the classic sun and beach tourism of the Balearic Islands. However, Christmas is also one of the seasons with the greatest number of residents on the island due to the number of people who return home to spend Christmas with family and friends. Many of these residents returning home are university students so it is worth noting the greater presence in these two weeks of open bar and pub parties.

In IbizaGoCar we recommend that if you come to Ibiza for Christmas holidays, rent a car with us and if the weather is good, rent a motorbike and enjoy the winter sun of Ibiza and enjoy the tranquility of the island in winter and the Christmas atmosphere so characteristic of these holidays and visit the Christmas markets on the island.

Until January 6th the Christmas market in Vara de Rey will be open with the largest Christmas tree located on the Paseo. The Artisan’s Market in the Plaza del Parque and an artificial ice rink in the Plaza Antoni Albert i Nieto will also be open until 6 January. Another must-see is the visit to the Bethlehem of the Peace Park. A life-size crib.

Another thing we must try at Christmas in Ibiza is the traditional Salsa de Nadal, a typical Christmas dessert in Ibiza that is made with an old traditional recipe and unique in Spain.
